Mumbai: Public sector bank ‘Bank of Baroda’ has significantly upgraded its Unified Payments Interface (UPI) application, bob इ Pay, by adding three powerful international features – UPI Global Acceptance, Foreign Inward Remittance, and UPI Services for NRIs.
This enhancement empowers both Indian residents and NRIs with secure, real-time, and seamless cross-border digital payments.
With UPI Global Acceptance, Bank of Baroda customers can make QR code-based payments directly from their Indian bank accounts to merchants overseas in eight countries: Mauritius, Singapore, UAE, USA, France, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Bhutan.

Transactions are displayed in both the foreign and Indian currency, along with exchange rates and fees, ensuring complete transparency.
The Foreign Inward Remittance feature enables Bank of Baroda customers in India to receive instant, 24×7 money transfers from Singapore residents via their registered UPI ID on bob इ Pay. Funds are credited directly to the beneficiary’s account in Indian Rupees, simplifying cross-border family support.

For NRIs, the new UPI Services for NRIs allow NRE/NRO account holders to link their accounts to bob इ Pay during visits to India using a domestic mobile number, enabling merchant payments and peer-to-peer transfers with ease.

These international UPI services maintain the same transaction limits as domestic UPI – ₹1,00,000 per transaction and per day. The bob इ Pay app, available to both Bank of Baroda customers and non-customers, already boasts 1.3 million registered users.
Speaking on the launch, Sanjay Mudaliar, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said: “UPI has transformed payments in India. With bob इ Pay International, we are taking this revolution global, offering convenience and flexibility to our customers, whether they are in India or abroad.”
Customers can download the bob इ Pay app from the Play Store or App Store and activate the new international services directly within the app.
